Agreement: Yanukovych’ Kryptonite
Ukraine’s citizens of protestors have erupted in mitigation and the heads of
state are trying to shield Ukraine from a civil war. As International relations
Scholars we must classify President Viktor Yanukovych as a type one group
leader serving national interest or is he? Viktor is showing signs of high
levels of nationalism, high levels of conceptual complexity and high levels of
distrust of others with strong belief in ability to control events and a strong
need for power meaning he is an Independent leader. (Mingst
& Arreguin-Toft, 2014) External conditions
exist acknowledging that the influences of the societal groups are uneasily
persuaded by Yanukovych. His impact as an elitist has resulted in mass
demonstrations protesting in dissent; shockingly he believes Ukraine should not
be a part of the European Union association agreement. (Chapman, 2014) Protestors are furious. Yanukovych must
act rationally making a truce to voters in which they could all reach unanimity
as the ambiguous issue persists.
Already more than 100 protestors are fallen including two activists who were
kidnapped and anti-EU party “Svoboda” has become the face of opposition.
(Mankoff, 2014) Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych refusal to sign European
Union association agreement erupts in protests; protests erupted in Kyiv on
November 21. Viktor’s decision is faced with tension from Russia and a
declining economics political model favoring western integration. (Mankoff, 2014) The gravity of the
unusual situation draws attention up to hundreds of thousands because mirrored
image exist between the President and Ukraine’s citizens meaning Ukraine’s
citizens trust the President and Viktor’s ties with Vladimir Putin thins a
strong global relationship with the European Union. Rumors are connecting a
bailout received by Russia’s Vladimir Putin in the amount of $15 billion
(Kaplan, 2014) which convinced Yanukovych to decline to sign the EU’s
agreement. Obama’s pressing concern is on a humanitarian motive. Viktor’s
personality character has causation rather correlative purpose using his
ability to control ignoring the satisfaction of Ukraine’s citizens.
Signing the association agreement with
the European Union is a top priority to bring the “Euromaidans” into civil
order. Integrating Ukraine’s Political Economy is a participatory leader’s
number one strategy to increase trust from others by 30%. Viktor’s decision
resulted in outrage bending international policy when instead he should favor
public opinion. Concessions aim to revert to the 2004 Constitution. A
constitution that puts the power in Parliamentary and to a nation, united. A
possibility for change in Ukraine’s policy first would have to be developed through
standards of process and procedures when indeed cognitive consistency ensures
policy standards because a European’s countries success is another European
countries success. European integration should be stronger that Russian
sentiment. A bill introduced by the Ukrainian parliamentary addresses
unsanctioned demonstrations with sentences for 15 years shockingly this bill
must change the intentions of the “Euromaidans.” As a result the bill
inadvertently gathered more protestor where pro-Russian and Pro-Yanukovych
areas remain. Supporting his decision Yanukovych has appointed a new Prime
Minister, then on Saturday Yanukovych fled Ukraine (Kaplan, 2014). Now the
peace is maintained.
Yanukovych should honor to return to the
2004 Constitution he also must be reprimanded to return to Ukraine for
debriefing on his next assignments resigning from his presidency. President
Yanukovych should change his views towards foreign policy and sign the
association agreement with EU because there are more member states than
bilateral alliance with Russia. Individual stability will result by introducing
a groupthink mechanism involving Foreign Ministers of France, Germany and
Poland. (Chapman, 2014) Negotiations will bring in cognitive consistency that
is satisficing that any EU member has substantial economic and political
stability. If Parliamentary leaders evoke to return to 2004 Ukrainian
constitution which limits presidential powers may form a national united
government. (Chapman, 2014) If “Euromaidans” persist a reversal and Yanukovych
increases his quest for control and power perhaps joining and signing the EU
document is more than just a constructivist belief because it’s a deal to end
Violence. As International Relations scholars, we can use the Hermann model to
predict the precise personality characteristics that will suffice. Predicting
desired outcomes as a result of free and fair elections promises a more stable
political economy in the long run. In the short run returning to the 2004
constitution is a brilliant idea. If Viktor returns to the public’s attention
he could explain his motive to resolve injustices.
